Cottage I - TWO BEDROOM cottage has cable TV, a modern kitchen and modern appliances, washer & dryer and a large bathroom with tub/shower combination. Sleeps 5 adults (1 queen & 1 full bed, with additional sleeping w/twin bed), a cot, and a comfortable 7' sofa and another small sofa available for a children. The cottage has a large deck w/gas grill. In addition to the cottage deck, there is a large dock area for boating, swimming and fishing.

Cottage II - is ONE BEDROOM with a queen sleeper sofa and love seat in the living room, and folding cot. Can sleep 4 adults and one-two children. The Cottage has Cathedral ceilings in L/R & B/D. Modern kitchen and appliances, washer & dryer and bathroom w/shower. There is a large deck with gas grill where you can enjoy the view of the lake. Lake is about 200' from the cottage. The walk in the picture goes right by Cottage I and down to the lake.

THE HOMES HISTORY: The Rider House was built in 1902 by John Rider a nephew of William Bradford, the first ancestor to enter into this country. John migrated from Massachusetts with his family to Exeter Township. There he purchased several parcels of real estate in The Rider Valley which was named for him. His son John Jay Rider was born in the Town of Exter and after his father's death inherited and operated the Rider Homestead for many years. Late in life he built the beautiful Rider House. The home was built in 1902 and John Jay Rider only lived there a short time, as he died in 1906. William Bradford head of the original family came to this country on the Mayflower and was a signer of the Mayflower Compact. He was the second governor of Massachusetts appointed after John Carver who succumb to the cruel New England winter, and served the State of Massachusetts and the Plymouth Colony for 30 years.
The home had been occupied by descendants of the original family until our purchase of the home in August 2000.
Many who come to Visit "THE GLIMMERGLASS OPERA" will enjoy the atmosphere, comfort and closeness that The Rider House offers.
This turn of the century victorian home has 14 rooms which includes seven bedrooms. The whole second floor with a private entrance has been set aside for the guests which allows our Bed and Breakfast to be unique. It offers the guests the freedom to choose to be totally pampered, or enjoy the private home type atmosphere by taking advantage of the sink area, with coffee maker, and two small refrigerators in the common room and TV area. In addition there is a gas grill and picnic area with swings on the large lawn which is great for family gatherings or just a quiet stroll.
Our B&B is a great place for families coming to the dreams park who would enjoy being served a great breakfast taking advantage of getting to the park early, but still would love the flexibility to be able to make sandwiches, grill dinner and have an area to enjoy with the family when they get a break at the park.
The Bed and Breakfast is 1 1/2 miles from our cottages and the lake, and we offer the guests staying at the B&B the same lake privileges. There is an additional two acres of land with a park like setting next to cottage II. This provides space for parking, and area where guests staying at the B&B can bring some family or friends to also enjoy the lake and have a picnic.
We have one of the nicest spots on the lake for swimming even for small children. There are several floats, water trampoline, a paddle boat and the guests get to share the pontoon boat.
